This policy describes how GIF & Image Paste (the “App”) and this website (the “Site,” including pages served at gi.tool.smartopslab128.com and related GitHub Pages) handle information.
1. Who we are
The App is an independent Windows desktop tool. The source code and releases are published on GitHub. This Site is the official download and information page for the project.
For privacy-related questions, you may open an issue on the GitHub repository.
2. The App (desktop software)
2.1 Data stored on your device
The App is designed to work without a user account and without our servers for your library. Media you add (images, GIFs) and related metadata (for example: order, favorites, custom tabs) are stored locally on your computer in the application’s user data area (typical location on Windows is under your user profile, managed by Electron’s userData path).
We do not receive copies of your library content by default because the App does not upload it to us.
2.2 Network use in the App
Some features may use the network, for example:
- Fetching an image when you add from a URL you provide
- Opening external links you choose (for example: support or project pages) in your default browser
Those actions connect to the services you target (for example, the image host) or the pages you open, not to a dedicated “GIF & Image Paste” backend operated by us.
2.3 Optional support links
If you use in-app or on-site links to support the project (for example, Buy Me a Coffee), that service’s privacy policy applies to what you provide there (payment, email, account data, etc.).
3. This website (GitHub Pages)
3.1 Hosting
The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub’s privacy practices apply to repository and hosting operations. See GitHub’s documentation and privacy notice for details.
3.2 Analytics and advertising (Google AdSense)
We may use Google AdSense to show ads on the Site. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites.
You can learn more about how Google uses data in Google’s services and your choices, including how to opt out of personalized advertising, at:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services
- EU users: you may also visit Your Online Choices (industry information about online advertising)
3.3 Cookies
Where ads or embedded content are present, third parties (including Google) may set and read cookies or use local storage. The exact storage depends on your browser settings, consent choices (where applicable), and the ad products enabled on the Site.
4. Children’s privacy
The App and Site are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe we have collected personal information from a child in a way that should be removed, please contact us via the GitHub issue link above.
5. International users
Visitors and users may be located in different countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regions with local privacy laws, you may have additional rights regarding personal data, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App or the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
7. Buy Me a Coffee (third-party support)
Voluntary support is processed by Buy Me a Coffee when you use our link: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/smartopslab128. That platform’s terms and privacy policy govern information you provide to them. This Site links to the same support page to make the relationship clear for users and for platform verification.
